On Dec. 29, the 44-year-old singer shared photos of himself and Annalisa, also known as Qi Qi, celebrating his mother’s 70th birthday, a move widely interpreted as signaling that the relationship had become serious. His management company later said JJ Lin was "happy in love" but had no plans to marry at this stage.

According to Taiwanese media, the couple met through a mutual friend in late 2023 and began dating in mid-2024. They have since maintained a stable relationship. JJ Lin is reported to be attentive to his girlfriend, frequently giving her luxury gifts and taking her on trips to destinations such as Tokyo and New Zealand.

After the relationship was made public, netizens began searching for information about Annalisa. Some noted that during a family outing with JJ Lin, she was seen carrying a newly released Chanel handbag priced at NT$800,000 (US$25,316), sparking speculation that she came from a wealthy family.

Other reports claimed that Annalisa, who has roots in Guangxi, graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York and has professional experience in luxury brand design. These reports also suggested she came from an affluent family, alleging that her father was a senior executive at a listed company and that her mother was involved in real estate, with properties in Japan and the U.K.

However, claims later circulated online accusing Annalisa of "pretending to be rich". These allegations asserted that her father was "involved in economic crimes and serving a prison sentence overseas". Some posts also alleged that she had previously resold JJ Lin’s concert tickets on the black market and had been involved in designing tour merchandise and fashion accessories for the singer.

Responding to the controversy, JJ Lin said that he and his girlfriend were victims of a targeted smear campaign. He added that evidence of false claims had been collected and that he reserved the right to pursue legal action.

Born Wayne Lin Junjie, JJ Lin began his music career with the release of his debut album "Music Voyager" in 2003 and is also known for his songwriting. He has won three Golden Melody Awards, regarded as the Chinese-speaking world’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist and two for Best Mandarin Male Singer.
