Amaarashi, who is also a singer and Sayuri’s husband, confirmed her death via social media on Friday. He disclosed that Sayuri died on Sep. 20 and that her funeral was privately conducted with just family and close friends in attendance.

"We sincerely thank everyone for their affection towards Sayuri over the years," Amaarashi expressed in his post. "We hope you will pray for her soul to rest in peace."

He noted that in her last days, Sayuri fought illness. Despite her suffering, she continued to be devoted to her music, cherishing the memory of those who adored her voice.

Now News reported that due to privacy reasons, the family chose not to divulge specifics of Sayuri’s health issues. However, she had previously announced in July on social media that she was pausing her work activities due to speech difficulties. Following this, she ceased updates on social media and refrained from making any public appearances.

Sayuri embarked on her career in the entertainment sector in 2010. Apart from her singing, she was also a composer, contributing to the soundtracks for "Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace," "Scum’s Wish," "Fate/Extra," "Golden Kamuy," "My Hero Academia," and "Lycoris Recoil."

She married Amaarashi, who is a member of the band Misekai, in March.

Sayuri once shared that she struggled with socializing, feeling "disconnected" from the world outside since her high school years. For her, playing the guitar and singing served as her means of connecting with people.
