According to a report by HK01, the 20-minute recording surfaced online on May 9. Observers have identified the woman in the video as Hu, noting her distinct body features and a mole on her face.

Hu then wrote on her Weibo account: "I hope that all women in their darkest moments and all victims in despair can be protected by justice."

It is widely suspected that Hu’s ex-boyfriend is responsible for leaking the video, with suggestions that she should report the incident to the police.

Hu was seen kissing a man on an escalator in a shopping center in September of the previous year. She has not commented on this event since it occurred, amidst speculation that the man was married with children and had a controversial history.
