"I felt it was time to step out because one became akin to a frog in a well after too long a time at TVB," she said, referencing an idiom about limited vision, in an interview with HK01, as cited by The Star. "The stability of a steady job and repeating the same tasks every day left little room for growth or breakthroughs."

At that point, Yeung was also entering a new chapter in her life, planning her wedding, starting a family, and reconsidering her career in entertainment.

Addressing rumors that she had been "blacklisted" by TVB after her departure, Yeung dismissed them.

"That never happened, to be honest ... My contract had simply ended," she explained. "And that gave me the chance to reflect on my priorities, plan my life, take a break, and spend quality time with my family."

After leaving TVB, Yeung married Hong Kong actor Him Law, her co-star from "The Hippocratic Crush." Reflecting on their relationship, she describes their love story as calm and grounded. Now parents to two children, the couple values a steady, peaceful partnership, with Law often comparing their love to "a gentle, flowing river."

Still, Yeung admits that while she values their stable relationship, she hopes to add more excitement to their routine.

"A steady river doesn’t have to be dull," she said with a laugh. "You need to sprinkle in some colour, right? If it gets too bland, that’s not ideal either."

Yeung, 45, began her career in music videos and appeared as an extra in television dramas before landing her first lead role in 2001. Her popularity skyrocketed with the airing of the 2004 drama "Twin of Brothers," where she starred alongside Hong Kong actors Raymond Lam and Ron Ng.

In 2012, she became the first TVB actress to win all four individual TVB awards for her role in "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles."
