The actress revealed the breakup on Instagram, sharing a post that featured an image of a bouquet of flowers.

"Two months ago, Cha and I made a decision to take different paths," she wrote in the caption, as quoted by The Star. "I’m grateful for the eight-and-a-half years we shared. We’re both doing well."

Lee emphasized that the decision was mutual and made with respect and care for each other. She highlighted the need for privacy during this sensitive period, particularly for Cha, who is not a celebrity in the entertainment industry.

In her post, Lee also reflected on the nature of relationships and personal growth, saying: "Meeting someone who helps you learn and grow, someone you find worthy of love, is also a form of happiness."

"Throughout this journey, there has been effort, sincerity, growth and love," she continued. "No separation is ever truly the conclusion, so don't hold onto rigid ideas, and don't let others' opinions affect your decisions. Follow your heart, listen to yourself and find peace and happiness in your own way."

Lee and Cha became engaged in Feb. 2021 but postponed their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In a 2022 interview, Lee mentioned that she felt no urgency to get married, noting that many already referred to her as Mrs. Cha.

"The marriage certificate is just a formality," she stated at the time.

Lee, 44, first gained fame in the 2003 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, where she earned the Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent titles. She subsequently signed with TVB and starred in several of its dramas until her departure in 2019.

Cha is known as a personal trainer for celebrities like Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat and singer Aaron Kwok, as reported by AsiaOne.
