According to Dimsum Daily, Wang made the remark upon arriving at Taoyuan Airport on Monday, where reporters asked for his thoughts on Barbie’s death. Visibly emotional, he clasped his hands together and bowed deeply to the gathered press, asking them to "speak kindly of Barbie."

When questioned about his return to Taiwan and any plans to travel to Japan, where Barbie’s cremation ceremony took place, Wang, overcome with tears, shook his head without giving a direct response.

Wang had returned to Taiwan from a vacation in Thailand with his new wife Mandy immediately after Barbie’s family confirmed her death on Monday. The news of the actress’ passing at 49 was shared by her younger sister, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu.

"Thank you for all the concern," Dee stated. "Over the Lunar New Year period, our entire family travelled to Japan for a holiday, and my most beloved, kindest elder sister Barbie caught influenza-related pneumonia and has unfortunately left us."

"I am thankful to be her sister in this life, and grateful that we have taken care of each other and kept each other company all these years. I will always be thankful to her and remember her," Dee concluded. "Shan [Barbie’s nickname], rest in peace. We love you always. Together remember forever."

Barbie rose to fame through her roles in TV series such as "Meteor Garden," "Mars," and "Summer’s Desire."

She became engaged to Wang in 2010, just 49 days after their first date, and they married the following year in Sanya, China. The couple had two children.

However, their marriage began to deteriorate, leading to their divorce in Nov. 2021. Hsu accused Wang of infidelity and physical abuse, including incidents during her pregnancy. She also cited his business struggles and erratic behavior, claiming he failed to support their family financially.

Following the divorce, Hsu reunited with her ex-boyfriend, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and married him in Feb. 2022. The couple resumed their life together until her untimely death.
