According to The Star, a witness posted a video on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu showing Chen in a heated argument with another traveller near the airport’s security checkpoint. In the footage, the actor appears visibly upset, with his hands in his pockets, standing beside a woman who seemed to be speaking with authorities.
The witness claimed the incident occurred around 7 a.m. on July 21, and began after Chen was allegedly shoved from behind.
"Ran into one of my favourite stars from my younger days, and it was during an awkward moment," the post read. "He was pushed by a person behind him, and they got into an argument. Even the police had to get involved."
This latest confrontation follows a reported dispute on a Japan Airlines flight from Tokyo to New York last month. According to earlier reports, Chen was retrieving his luggage when a fellow passenger tried to move past him. When the actor asked to finish collecting his belongings first, a flight attendant intervened and explained that the other passenger had Diamond-tier frequent flyer status. Chen, who believed he held the same status, was reportedly left confused and frustrated by the response.
Chen, 45, rose to fame after being scouted in 1999 for a commercial alongside Hong Kong star Leon Lai. He launched his music career in 2000 and is best known for film roles in "Infernal Affairs" and "Initial D."
In 2008, he announced his withdrawal from the entertainment industry following a high-profile photo scandal but made a return in 2010.
