Citing QQ, Znews reported that Huang revealed that each car is valued at 123,800 yuan (US$16,887). Of the 30 cars, 10 were donated to the Zhejiang Province Women and Children’s Fund, while the remaining 20 were distributed to fans through a random selection during his livestream.

Huang also clarified that 15 of the cars were sponsored by the brand, while he personally purchased the other 15.

Some fans voiced disappointment that the cars were not luxury vehicles. Responding to the criticism, Huang said: "It’s okay if you don’t want them, there will always be people who do. This is all from my heart."

During a Weibo livestream on Dec. 24, 2024, Huang pledged to gift 10 randomly selected domestic cars if his account reached 15 million followers. After his announcement, his follower count soared, quickly surpassing 40 million.

"The idea came to me quite randomly, but I never imagined such overwhelming interest and enthusiasm from everyone," Huang shared.

Huang, 32, debuted with SM Entertainment’s K-pop boy group EXO in 2012 but left the group in 2015, citing health reasons, and returned to China.

The South China Morning Post reported that Huang inherited an estimated US$3 billion fortune from his late father Huang Zhongdong.
