This decision came after her daughter requested her not to wear a white dress, fearing it might overshadow the newlyweds, according to Bored Panda.
Images of the family at the wedding, which celebrated Jin Cheng and her German partner Aky Niwa’s union after a four-year relationship, were shared on social media and led to mixed reactions. Many criticized Paulina’s choice, claiming it was not suitable for a wedding.
"It’s inappropriate to wear a bikini to a wedding," one online commenter noted.
Another added: "I can’t imagine what the bride’s mother would say about this."
Critics also argued that the outfit would be more appropriate for a beach setting and expressed concerns that it might upset the bride.
Nonetheless, some praised Paulina’s appearance, with one admirer commenting: "Wow, she looks amazing at 57, right?"
"If you have a perfect body, then flaunt it," another voiced their support for Paulina.

At the ceremony, Jin Cheng reflected on her views towards marriage, revealing that she originally held a negative stance on marriage due to her mother’s divorce.
"Initially, I didn’t want to get married," she admitted. "I thought marriage was hell and a grave for love, but I’m very happy with Aky. She proposed to me twice so I accepted."
Her partner echoed the sentiment, stating: "We understand and match each other more and more."
Paulina also spoke openly about her daughter’s sexual orientation at the ceremony, revealing that she knew Jin Cheng was gay since her teenage years.
"I’m very open-minded," she states. "And society has changed now."
She added that she assured her daughter that her choices were acceptable as long as they did not harm society.
Jin Cheng, 29, began her journey in the entertainment industry in 2007 through a talent development program by Chinese pay television musical network Channel V and made her acting debut three years later.
