They accounted for 8.55 percent of the country’s exports, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
High growth was seen in fisheries, rice and cassava products. Fisheries exports grew by 45 percent to $4.75 billion thanks to growing demand.
Shrimp and pangasius shipments were worth $1.8 billion and $1.2 billion, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.
It was followed by rice and cassava, whose exports rose by 14 percent year-on-year to $386 million and 38.7 percent to $636 million.
