Vu Van Thanh was selected in the best XI on matchday two of the AFC Champions League group stage.

As the only Southeast Asian player in the XI, Thanh was put in the left-winger position, although his main position is right-back. In the game with Australia's Sydney FC on Tuesday, Thanh opened the score for HAGL from a freekick, before Sydney equalized and ended the game 1-1.

The national team player had two shots in the game and created a chance for his teammate. He also won the ball twice and had two clearances. Thanh failed to make any successful dribbles in the game, while his teammates succeeded 14 times.

The XI of this round has six Japanese players, of which Kawasaki Frontale's Yu Kobayashi is considered the player of the round. The midfielder scored a double in the 8-0 win of Kawasaki against Guangzhou FC on Monday.
