Thailand have announced their preliminary squad list for the upcoming U23 Asian Cup, of which 10 players are contracted abroad.

Those 10 players include Jonathan Khemdee (Odense Boldklub, Denmark), Ben Davies (Oxford United, the U.K.) and Chayapipat Supunpasuch (Estoril, Portugal), all of whom had just competed at SEA Games 31, where they were defeated by Vietnam in the final.

Among them, Khemdee and Davis were trained overseas and have garnered media attention for their performance at SEA Games 31.

The others are playing in Denmark, Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K.

Only 10 players in the SEA Games 31 squad were on the list.

In U23 Asian Cup, Thailand will be coached by Worrawoot Srimaka. In SEA Games 31, national team coach Mano Polking took over the U23 team with the target of helping Thailand claim the gold medal, but they lost 0-1 to Vietnam in the final.

2022 U23 Asian Cup will take place in Uzbekistan from June 1 to 19. In this tournament, Thailand are in group C with Vietnam, South Korea and Malaysia. They will face Vietnam in the opening game on June 2.
