A woman in Malaysia has caught attention from social media for using the sizzling sunlight to fry an egg outdoor.

Fatasha Nadia attempted to make an omelete outdoors on May 12, when the temperature was 36 degrees Celsius, she wrote on Facebook.

She poured cooking oil on a pan under the sun at 1 p.m., cracked an egg on it 10 minutes later and waited for more than two hours until the egg looked like a fully cooked version.

Her post, which chronicled the process in detail, has been shared more than 2,200 times.

Fatasha is not the only one who has tapped the heat from the sun to fry an egg.

In April, a man in India also did the same, using a pan left on the terrace of his house.

Southeast and South Asia have been experiencing record heat that is expected to last until June.

Last Thursday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a Level 1 heat alert for seven states: Kedah, Kelantan, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah and Sarawak.

The alert comes when the area experiences maximum temperature of between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for at least consecutive days, according to the Malay Mail.
