The U.S. dollar dropped slightly against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Wednesday morning.

Unofficial exchange points sold the dollar at VND23,470, down 0.13% from Tuesday.

The greenback, however, remained steady at banks. Vietcombank kept its rate unchanged at VND23,600.

Eximbank sold the greenback at VND23,570, up 0.04%. The rate at Techcombank is VND23,600, down 0.02%.

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted its reference rate up 0.01% to VND23,606.

The dollar has dropped 0.55% against the dong since the beginning of the year.

The dollar index went up 0.48% to 102.87 points, highest in a week.
