US firm’s $59-mln electronics factory approved in Da Nang

The central city of Da Nang has approved investment of VND1.37 trillion ($59 million) by U.S. company Vector Fabrication to make printed circuit boards and micro-electro-mechanical systems.

Construction of the 40,000-square-meter factory in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park is set to start this year, and production will begin in 2025.

Vector Fabrication, established in 1995, is a supplier to many major companies including Apple, Logitech and Tesla Motor.

In Vietnam, it already has a factory in the southern province of Binh Duong.

Da Nang has attracted 11 projects to its industrial parks this year, three of them foreign-invested, with a combined investment of over $65 million.
