Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) made its biggest ever profit of VND17.1 trillion (US$724.58 million) last year, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 40%.

According to its consolidated financial statement, income from interest and services both increased by over 20% to VND23.5 trillion and VND3.5 trillion.

Net profits from other activities rose to nearly VND1 trillion from less than VND150 billion in 2021.

It almost did not have to make provision for bad debts compared to more than VND3.3 trillion the previous year.

Its assets soared by 14% to VND413.7 trillion, and deposits by 9% to VND413.95 trillion.

ACB was one of the few lenders to pare its bad debt ratio, which fell from 0.78% to 0.74%.

Besides, without corporate bonds in its portfolio, it has escaped the buffeting that hit many other banks due to the recent bond market troubles.
