VMO Holdings has donated nearly VND500 million ($21,500) for building a kindergarten with an outdoor playground in a village in Ha Giang Province and buying teaching aids for it.

VMO Technology Joint Stock Company, as it is formally known, has sponsored 100 percent of the cost of building the kindergarten in Ha Ca Thinh village with one classroom and staff room each, restrooms and the outdoor playground with tables, chairs, blankets, and lockers in every room.

"Through discussions and cooperation with authorities in Giang Chu Phin commune, VMO Holdings desires to facilitate the education of children at the kindergarten in Ha Ca Thinh village with improved facilities, contributing to improved teaching and learning quality," Pham Thi Nhung, human resources director of VMO Holdings said.

Giang Chu Phin is a particularly disadvantaged commune situated in Meo Vac District. Its entire population belongs to ethnic minority groups, with 82.7 percent being poor or near-poor.

It has 23 preschool-aged children currently studying and boarding in the Ha Ca Thinh village primary school.

Nong Van Ngay, chairman of the Giang Chu Phin Commune People's Committee, said many schools lack facilities and equipment due to financial limitations, which greatly affects the quality of education.

Pham Thi Nhung, human resources director of VMO Holdings, said the company expects to build a spacious and safe learning environment to support teachers and students in the area.

"It will also be a meaningful activity on the occasion of VMO Holdings' 10th anniversary. We at VMO Holdings expect to contribute to the betterment of students in other remote and mountainous areas."
