According to Sinchew, Wong finalized the sale of her apartment in Hong Kong’s Aberdeen area in late April. Reports indicate that in addition to this apartment, she owns a HK$500 million property in Hong Kong’s Mid-Levels residential area, along with several other properties.
Wong, who has spent most of the recent years in Beijing, seldom visits Hong Kong. She lives in a high-end villa in Beijing’s Chaoyang district valued at nearly HK$300 million.
Additionally, she owns four more properties in Beijing—three in the Chaoyang district and one in the Shunyi district—each valued in the hundreds of millions of Hong Kong dollars, making her total assets estimated to be worth several billion Hong Kong dollars.
Wong, 55, moved from Beijing to Hong Kong when she was 18 and rose to prominence in the early 1990s with her Cantonese songs. Her international reputation grew with her appearances in movies directed by Wong Kar-wai, especially "Chungking Express" and "2046."
The singer has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Chinese musician Dou Wei, 55, in 1996, but they parted ways three years later. Her second marriage was to Chinese actor Li Yapeng, 53, in 2005, ending in divorce in 2013.
Wong later reconnected with her ex-boyfriend, Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse, 44. The couple has maintained a steady relationship and is often seen traveling together.
