Vietnam Business Summit (VBS) and ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS 2020) are both scheduled for November 12 - 13.

The two events will be organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on the sidelines of the 37th ASEAN Summit.

With the theme "Digitized Vietnam: Toward resilient responsive and sustainable development," Vietnam Business Summit on November 12 would focus on three key topics: Opportunities and potential for Vietnamese economic development in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, developing smart logistics to enhance Vietnam's position in the global value chain, and high-tech agriculture development cooperation.

After 10 years, Vietnam is set to once again host ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) on November 13. The event routinely gathers thousands of delegates from across Southeast Asia and other regions.

Occurring prior to ASEAN Leaders Summit, ASEAN BIS 2020 would discuss the role of the fourth industrial revolution in promoting trade and investment, along with Covid-19 recovery.

It will cover four key topics like ASEAN economic prospects; future technology and employment; sustainable development; environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

Due to the impact of Covid-19, the 2020 VBS and ASEAN-BIS would commence both online and offline for the first time.

"This will be a great opportunity for businesses and government agencies to discuss comprehensive and sustainable development to combat economic degradation and poverty in the region," said Vu Tien Loc, chairman of VCCI.
