The Ministry of Finance has cut road tolls for passenger transport vehicles by 30 percent for the first six months of 2022 to help suffering operators.

Goods transport vehicles such as trucks and tractors will get a 10 percent discount.

It is one of 37 fees that will be slashed by 10-50 percent to mitigate difficulties caused by Covid-19.

Transport companies have been reporting plunging revenues and losses due to the prolonged restrictions to curb the spread of the infection.

The number of road passengers in the first 11 months was down by 30 percent year-on-year to 2.27 billion, according to the General Statistics Office.
