Rewards rain on Vietnamese football team after AFF Cup win

Several companies have responded to the Vietnamese men’s football team’s AFF Cup win with a spate of rewards.

Winning the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 has fetched the team the prize money of $300,000. But, given the popularity of the game and the team, business firms small and big have lined up to show their appreciation.

Technology startup Be Group Corporation, a newcomer in the ride-hailing market, has rewarded the team VND2 billion ($86,000) and a year of using its services free of charge.

The Truong Hai Auto Corp has also announced a similar reward, plus $50,000 for coach Park alone.

Vietcombank, TPBank, electronics maker Asanzo and mobile network operator Vinaphone have announced rewards of VND1 billion ($43,000).

Vinaphone will also give Anh Duc, the player that scored the only goal of the final's second leg, VND1 billion.

Eurowindow, a sliding door and roller shutter maker, has said it will reward the team with VND1.5 billion ($64,500) in cash and a trip worth VND500 million ($21,500) to a resort on the central coast.

The team will also receive vouchers worth VND4.2 billion ($180,257) in total to stay at villas of Hanoi-based Apec Group.

PHG Locks has said it will hand out 1,000 smart doorbells costing VND3.6 billion ($154,506) to families of players.

Ever since the team made it to the semifinal, it has receives many rewards from different companies.

More rewards are expected to come the team's way.

Vietnam's national football team brought home the ASEAN Football Federation championship Saturday night, after 10 years.
