Vietnam imports $2 bln worth of garments from China in first five months

During the first five months, Vietnam imported $4.15 billion worth of garments, of which 52.5 percent came from China, according to Vietnam Customs.  

Garment import value in May experienced its third consecutive monthly increase, jumping 2.5 percent on-year. 

Garments are among Vietnam's top imports, following machinery and computers.

Over half of the imported garments came from China in the first five months of the year, marking China's influence over Vietnam's garment market.
