Thai marketing firm Whiteline Group has introduced a temporary policy called “Tinder leave” that gives its employees paid time off to go on dates.

The benefit, which aims to boost well-being among employees, will be available from July until the end of 2024, as reported by Australian news service 9News.

Only staff that have passed probation and joined the firm between July 9 and Dec. 31 this year will benefit from the policy.

"Our employees can use Tinder leave for dating with someone," the firm said in a LinkedIn post cited by The Straits Times.

The exact number of days off has not been specified, and employees must notify the firm a week in advance if they want to use their Tinder leave.

The company, with around 200 employees at its Bangkok office, is also offering its staff six-month subscriptions to Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum, which provide premium features on the Tinder dating app.

The initiative stemmed from a staff member’s complaint about being too busy to date, according to the New York Post.

The firm’s managers explained that the initiative is based on research suggesting that finding love boosts happiness, which subsequently improves job satisfaction and productivity.
