KienLongBank names new chairman

Tran Ngoc Minh, vice chairman and CEO of KienLongBank, has been named as chairman in place of Tran Thi Thu Hang with effect from July 9.

Hang will continue as a director, and deputy CEO Tran Hong Minh will take over as acting CEO.

The personnel changes will be presented to shareholders for approval at an extraordinary meeting scheduled for October.

Minh, 40, has a master’s degree in economics and nearly 20 years of experience in major banks and corporations including in various senior positions. He joined KienLongBank as deputy CEO in early 2021 and became CEO in December that year.

This year the bank targets having total assets of VND90 trillion (US$3.6 billion), loans outstanding of VND60 trillion ($2.4 billion) and pre-tax profits of VND800 billion ($32 million).

In the first quarter it reported profits of VND213 billion ($8.5 million).
