The police had monitored the activities of the company, My Trinh Cosmetics, and another under the couple’s management.

They found they produced seven different types of fake Eagle Brand Medicated Oil, a popular product in Singapore used to treat muscular and joint pains.

They had distributed 70,000 of them since 2022, equivalent to VND6 billion (US$230,000) worth of genuine products.

Police raids also turned up hundreds of thousands of other suspected counterfeit products, which are currently being scrutinized.

They include Thai moisturizing cream, Thai "old man" oil, Korean roll-on oil and others.

The couple said they purchased ingredients and packages from unregulated sources and hired employees to produce the fake medicated oils and cosmetics.
