Vietnam's first men's football match at the 2019 SEA Games, against Brunei, starts at 3 p.m. Hanoi time.
The U22 players got familiar with Binan Stadium in Laguna, southeast of Metro Manila, on Sunday to prepare for the game.
Vietnam have always been victorious against Brunei, but Monday match will just be the start of an ambitious journey.
Their target is to win gold, which will be the first for Vietnam's men's football at the tournament. In the five times that Vietnamese men entered the final, they were beaten by Thailand four times and Malaysia the other time.
